There is no shortage of personal protective equipment in Broome County schools this fall

ENDICOTT (WBNG)-As the world pandemic continues, Broome County communities are stepping up to help each other as the next school year is approaching.
A private donor and Sam’s Club donated some items to help them successfully return to school, such as disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer and children’s masks.
Patrick Dewing of the county’s emergency services office said that more than 60,000 pieces of personal protective equipment will be distributed to 14 public and private school districts in Broome County.
Jason Van Fossen, head of the Maine-Endwell Central School District, said this effort fully illustrates the situation in our region.
“Continue to provide these resources through the community. In this case, now the mask is vital. It just shows that people recognize the importance of education and school education, and they want to do everything they can to help us get their children back to school. . We are very grateful for this,” the person in charge said.
According to Duin of the Emergency Services Office, the distribution is scheduled to start tomorrow, August 27.
