Donate to the Student Emergency Fund-The Student Emergency Fund will be used to help 3,900 students in southeastern Louisiana who cannot pay emergency expenses after Hurricane Ida.
Supporting the supply activities of student organizations-students are stepping up to assist storm relief efforts, including collecting water, paper products, masks and other necessities, and transporting them to the worst-hit areas.
Walmart will launch a registration campaign in all Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs in the United States from September 2 to 8 to support the American Red Cross to help people affected by Ada get what they need to recover and start rebuilding resource.
Before business closes on Wednesday, September 8, the company will match one dollar to one dollar of customer donations. Customers and members will have the opportunity to donate any amount, or round their purchase to the nearest dollar. Go to the American Red Cross to support communities affected by hurricanes, floods and fires in 2021. This means that these funds can also be used to assist in the recovery of Hurricane Ida.
The registration activity complements the US$5 million Hurricane Ida’s commitment to respond to Hurricane Ida announced on Monday. Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart Foundation and Sam Club have provided a total of up to US$10 million in funding to help disaster relief and response.
Brookshire Grocery Co. is launching a relief campaign to allow customers to donate to the American Red Cross for people affected by Hurricane Ida. Local wild animal recoverers are helping wild animals affected by Ada. A staging area was set up in Youngsville for supplies from other states. Financial donations and natural gas are being accepted. Louisiana is working together to reach out to people in the hardest-hit areas on a large scale to help assess their needs. Volunteers are needed for SMS Banking at 2pm on September 2 and Telephone Banking at 11am on September 3rd.
CALCASIEU PARISH United Way in southwestern Louisiana accepts donations of new and unused items at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. An online donation tracking form for hurricane supplies has been activated on the United Way website in southwestern Louisiana. Currently, second-hand clothes, bedding or toys are not accepted. As extensive damage has been seen, the items will be regularly transported to the Houma and Thibodaux areas of the Diocese of Terrebonne. This is the website.
Bon Ami Riding Club and 21 Brotherhood PSMC are teaming up to raise donations for supply activities to help rescue the victims of Hurricane Ida. Boss Nutrition and Healthy Hangout are raising funds for people affected by Ada. They said that 100% of the profits on Tuesday, September 7th, will be donated to the citizens of Laplace. Cavenders of Lafayette is accepting donations to areas affected by Ada. Donations can be delivered at the store located at 130 Tucker Drive from 4:30 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, September 2. The organizer stated that representatives of Cajun Navy will pick up the supplies at the scene. Accepted items include non-perishable food, infant formula, diapers, toilet paper/paper towels, feminine hygiene products and water. Anything else that might be useful will be accepted, and the organizers say anything is helpful.
On Saturday, September 4, from 9 am to 1 pm, staff at the Scott Pelloquin Chiropractic Health Center will collect donations in the clinic parking lot. The center is located at 101 Park W Drive.

On Thursday, September 2nd, the “Community Cares and Loves Your Neighbors” replenishment event will be held. From 5pm to 7:30pm, you can get off at the Northgate Mall parking lot on the side of Moss Street. To maintain social distancing, you stay in the car and volunteers will unload supplies. The Lafayette Professional Firefighters Association is collecting supplies, “will be delivered to our brothers and sisters who are responding to the impact of the hurricane. These items can be delivered at any Lafayette fire station,” a post said. The items needed are: tarps, roof nails, large garbage bags, work gloves, bleach, paper towels, general cleaning supplies, detergents, personal hygiene products (male and female), water (drinks and gallons).
The Oliver Lane Company, a gift shop in Youngsville, is collecting supplies to fill a moving truck. “Well, guys, it’s time to unite and help our state. Thankfully, we survived the disaster, but our neighbors did not,” the store wrote on their Facebook page. “One of our moving trucks will leave on Thursday to deliver supplies to the affected areas. So help us and help them. I will be at the store tomorrow and Wednesday from 930 am to 4 pm, if anyone needs to get off , I can come back after get off work after 5pm!” They are collecting tarps, cleaning supplies, canned food, paper towels, work gloves, garbage bags, water and other supplies. Waitr in Louisiana and its partner restaurants in the Lafayette area are collecting necessities to benefit the victims of Hurricane Ida in southeastern Louisiana. The donation activity starts today and continues until next Friday, September 10th. The company will send all collected items directly to the area.
