If you are flying in the United States and are worried about carrying hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes in your carry-on luggage, the Transportation Security Administration tweeted some good news on Friday. You can bring large bottles of hand sanitizer, wrapped disinfectant wipes, travel-size wipes and masks through the airport security checkpoint.
TSA is relaxing its liquid size restrictions to help travelers take measures to prevent coronavirus. The agency even posted a video on Twitter on how to make the most of the deregulation.

The agency said: “TSA allows passengers to carry a maximum of 12 ounces of liquid hand sanitizer containers, which are allowed in their carry-on luggage until further notice.”
Passengers carrying containers larger than the standard 3.4 ounces need to be individually inspected. This means you need to arrive at the airport earlier to allow more time.
However, the change only applies to hand sanitizer. All other liquids, gels, and aerosols are still limited to 3.4 ounces (or 100 milliliters) and must be packed in a quart-sized transparent bag.
TSA staff wear gloves when inspecting passengers or their property. Passengers can ask the staff to change their gloves when undergoing the inspection. The agency also reminds travelers to follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to protect themselves from the coronavirus and limit exposure to the coronavirus.
The TSA cyber directive includes a map showing airports where its officials have been affected by the coronavirus. So far, four agents at San Jose Airport have tested positive. The last time they worked was from February 21st to March 7th.
