When it comes to our beauty and skin care products, we all have some things that we are sure to splurge without hesitation, and things that we would rather go to the drugstore to buy. It all depends on personal preference, but the good news is that there are many affordable products that are as good as the more expensive brand-name products.
For me, I don’t mind opening my wallet for moisturizer, eye cream, retinol and sunscreen. I think there are some great drugstore crooks out there, but I can invest to keep my skin in good condition. I feel lucky that I have a way to do so. But I often buy some products at the drugstore, such as eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. And the skin care product I always buy at a cheap price is makeup remover.
I tried expensive and drugstore makeup removers, but to be honest, sometimes I really can’t tell the difference between the two. My favorite two-sided formula does the job and manages to wipe off every makeup (even waterproof stuff) on my face, so in order to save a few bucks, I always choose the cheaper option. The other skin care products I want to invest in are more money in the bank.
Yes, I know that some higher-priced formulas will make your skin feel a little more luxurious and contain some very fancy ingredients, but we should not go to the drugstore to buy things. Many of them are still providing nourishment to the skin and will not exfoliate it to completely dryness. In addition, for many of us, makeup removal is just a step in the skin care process-according to your personal habits, there are more cleansers, moisturizers and essences that can be added.
To prove my point, here are some of my favorite pharmacies. Say hello to Qianqian and say goodbye to sleeping with makeup!
I would say that 99.9% of the time, I have a bottle of Neutrogena’s classic makeup remover on my bathroom vanity. Eye makeup is difficult because it only takes a few swipes to get rid of it, but it never makes my face feel dry or too oily.

These pads contain soothing ingredients such as aloe, cucumber and green tea, so they are very gentle on the particularly sensitive eye area.
This is my favorite micellar water-I use it to cleanse my face and remove makeup. If I wear heavy makeup, I usually need to use normal makeup remover on top of this, but for mascara and a little concealer, this can solve the problem. It always makes my face feel refreshed and calm.
If you like Cetaphil’s cleansing milk, then the brand’s makeup remover will impress you equally. This product contains no fragrances and oils, and contains aloe, ginseng and green tea and other ingredients to make your skin feel very good.
Another French cosmeceutical brand we love, La Roche-Posay’s eye makeup remover can dissolve makeup and make your skin smooth and soft. The texture is like water without leaving any greasy feeling.
I usually prefer liquid solutions or balsams to small towels so that I can use reusable cotton wheels and reduce waste, but sometimes, they come in handy, especially when you are out. They are made of recycled cotton and can do three things: remove makeup, cleanse and condition.
This makeup remover is very cool because its pH is the same as that of natural tears, so it is very gentle on the sensitive eye area. It contains cornflower water and other ingredients, which can wash away the residue, and vitamin B can nourish the skin.
Pond’s Cold Cream ($5) is definitely a classic-maybe your mom or grandmother has used it for many years. This highly sought-after product has a new design with a lip balm-like consistency that can easily remove makeup and moisturize the skin. Rinse it off with warm water and you are ready to go.
Compared to liquid formulations, your eye makeup may prefer a balm or lotion. This option from Neutrogena can dissolve makeup and can also be used as a daily facial lotion. We can’t refuse multitasking products!
